Upstairs, two bedrooms and a sun room, which has a custom made futon, provide sleeping for 6 to 8. The downstairs office has a day bed which sleeps two people, either as a double bed or two singles.
The
sitting area has three walls of windows. The wood fireplace in the
sitting area was made using rocks from the beach. All the pieces of furniture in the this area have stories. The bench which faces the
fireplace was made by Liz's Dad in the 1950s.
The master bedroom is a wonderful place for a peaceful sleep. The queen size bed is covered by a quilt made by Madge Yorke, Liz's Mum. There are lots of queen size pillows to make reading in bed comfortable.
The north, east and south views from the master bedroom are superb. You can even lie flat in bed and see the ocean out the south window, and from the north window see the marsh filling and emptying as the tide comes in and goes out. You can also lie in bed and watch the sun rise. The chest of drawers and the armoire in this room were custom-made locally.
The Cottage is meant to be your home when you are there. This vacation rental property was planned so that everything needed for a vacation is there for you, except your food. All linens and towels are provided, as we know that no one wants to be dragging wet towels back home on the plane or taking up precious room in the car.

There is private access to the beach along a path to the shore and down a short flight of stairs.
Rentals are by the week, from Saturday to Saturday (check in
after 4 PM and check out before 10 AM).
Rates vary from $800-$2,500 Cdn (~$800-$1675 US) per week, depending on the
length of stay and the time of year.
Prices do not include 15% tax, which is refundable to non-Canadian residents.
Senior's or long stay discounts may be available.
Deposit of one half the rental fee required at the time of booking as well as a VISA or Master Card number for security and to hold the reservation. The remainder is due 4 weeks prior to arrival. Guests are provided with a written booking confirmation form.
Early booking recommended, especially for July/August Season.
The Beach Haven vacation rental has a private sand and pebble beach, a saltwater pond, and is a very short 2-3 minute stroll down our private land from a world class white sand beach, which is all but deserted. Our own saltwater pond provides a perfect safe spot for children to play or learn such skills as kayaking.

The upper level of the cottage provides more than 1400 square feet of first class accommodation for up to 8 persons (2 queens, 2 singles, 1 double). The open concept living room, dinning room and kitchen has a glorious pine cathedral ceiling, hardwood floors, a Jotul wood stove/fireplace and wonderful ocean views. The glassed in sun porch provides panoramic 270 degree views of the open ocean and the waves from England and France breaking on the reef, as well as Frying Pan Island and with the scenic Port Medway lighthouse. The sun porch is also an ideal place to watch the many birds and animals that frequent the property.
In keeping with the Swiss style, there is no connecting inside stairway between
the main level and the lower level, one goes in to the lower level directly from
the outside. It is beautifully finished with hardwood floors and pine walls. One
of the main features of interest in the recreation room is the regulation
Brunswick slate pool table. Consisting of a huge recreation room, large bedroom
(twins) and a spacious three piece bath, this extra space is a perfect add on
for large family gatherings or offers a quiet working space for guests who are
taking a ‘working holiday'.
This lower level is available only to families or groups who are renting the
main level (that is we never rent it as a separate unit) for an extra fee of
$500 per week during high season and half that in the shoulder season.

We think you will feel like the captain of a fine ship in this lovely ground floor suite with hardwood floors, especially seated in the fabulous glassed in porch on the waterside of the house.
This glorious sun room provides wonderful vistas of the harbour, a perfect vantage point for watching boats, birds, the sunset or just absorbing the beauty of the water. Since this is a separate room, with a very comfortable double futon the captain may choose to bunk down here. Alternately, the spacious master bedroom with a queen sized bed or a very comfortable double futon in the living room could be the sleeping quarters of choice. A large eat-in kitchen and a gracious dining room give lots of scope for enjoying that lobster or other bounty of the sea. Other spots for quiet relaxation are the living room or the old-fashioned verandah with sliding glass panels, adjustable according to the sea breeze or the Jacuzzi-style air whirlpool bathtub we have just had installed.
Outside on the deck, or inside from the lovely picture window in the kitchen; with a cup of coffee at daybreak or a glass of wine at sunset, the bird's eye view of the harbour from this suite is spectacular. A "room with a million dollar view", the eat-in kitchen is a terrific space for cooking and sharing food and fun. The living room offers quiet relaxation, or for those with work to do, an adjoining alcove provides a desk. With three bedrooms (queen, and two doubles) there is plenty of space for private R&R.
